New Beginnings.

On April 24th Two Families came in looking to adopt. I was fortunate to meet these people and help find them pets they were looking for.

The first family came into the shelter looking to adopt a pet. Unsure of the size, or specific breed they wanted, they were open for suggestions. After learning the first dog they wanted was unavailable, Ollie a lhasa apso was recommend. Ollie was an owner surrender case, where the owners no longer wanted him for reasons unknown. Ollie is a friendly, mellow dog, friendly, and adorable to look at. He is a male, 2 years old, neutered, and already had a tracking chip implanted in him in case he got lost. After being suggested as a possible candidate for adoption the family decided they wanted to spend some time with him and get to know him. Within minutes the family began to become attached. Soon after talking it over it was settled, "Ollie's the one" the mother of the family said. While walking into the shelter the father noticed another dog. A small rottweiler pup in desperate need of a home. The pup must have been no more than 2 to 3 months old and had road rash. This did not stop the father of the family from falling in love with the puppy. Within minutes another puppy was adopted the family not only adopted one but two dogs. Not only did they provide a fresh new start for the two dogs, but they provided Hope. Hope of new adventures and memories to come.

The second family who came looking to adopt were on a mission. They already had the "Tasmanian Devil" as they called their dog, but were looking for a partner for him. After searching the kennels for hours, and looking for a pet that could possibly come home with them that day they finally land upon the dog they wanted. Not only was the dog best suited for them but the entire family enjoyed the dogs presence and features the energy to keep up with their dog at home already.

We would like to say thank you to both families and others that contribute to our shelter providing homes for our sheltered animals and new beginnings for the animals they've adopted.
